My Sister’s Anxiety

My little sister has always had a problem with her nerves. Before school dances she would always vomit and get really shaky and pale and clammy. It’s pretty obvious that being super clammy and having your breath smelling vomit doesn’t exactly make you the most popular girl at the dance. I felt pretty bad for my sister but I did not know how to help her. I try to send example by how I behaved around my own friends and how I did not get nervous when I was going to a party. But it did not help. Finally I found a television show about a really awkward girl who overcomes her issues and becomes popular girl. I forget what it was called now but I sent my sister down one day and told her that we were going to watch tv online for a few hours together. I showed her the TV show and I think that she finally started to feel better. She felt like there is somebody in the world who understood what she was going through. Even though was just a fictional character I know that it really helped her to watch tv online and vicariously see someone overcome the same problems that my sister had. The awkward girl on TV even had the same issue of being nauseous before any social events. My sister was so excited that she had someone her corner and she was especially grateful to me. I am just so happy that I was able to help her overcome her anxiety. She still get kind of nervous and sometimes she’s clammy and she is actually dancing with the boy at a party were talking to one of the popular girls. But she is much better and she has stopped vomiting and she has a little more confidence. I know that she will continue to improve and I am really proud of her for trying to overcome her issues.
